"A couple of other software providers I looked at didn’t have the same functionality...I always felt like I got an answer and somebody to walk me through it and to get back to me quickly, which I really appreciated."
- Senior Director, Alumni Association
Everybody remembers the horrible feeling of losing something at school as a child. Today, students aren’t just issued books and pencils, however, as most schools distribute expensive learning assets such as laptops and tablets to their students. The difference between losing a school-owned calculator and losing a school-owned laptop could be the difference between not only hundreds of dollars, but the quality of the student’s learning.
Kids Lose Things
20 audits of schools around the state of New York performed by State Comptroller Thomas P DiNapoli revealed that many schools were unable to keep track of their IT assets such as monitors and computers which lead to more than $22 million in lost technology.
The audit found that the technology was not only lost, but subject to potential theft and damage.
This problem isn’t just happening in New York. Chicago Public Schools listed 8 percent of their technology assets as “lost” which included iPads, laptops, and other “high-tech devices that assist in remote learning.”
A survey from Cison also found that a staggering 80 percent of kids lose at least one “pricey school supply” every year and only 27 percent ever recovered the item.
At Kokomo24/7®, we understand that every school faces its own unique set of asset management challenges. We also understand that because it’s hard for many kids to keep track of all their assigned computers, iPads, etc., the need for a school or district to track these assets is there. With Kokomo24/7®’s Asset Management tool, schools and districts can keep track of their expensive equipment for students, streamlining the challenging task of tracking and managing your school’s equipment, and equally important, software licenses.
